What is Black Light Theatre?

Black Light Theatre is a form of theater in which a plain dark performance space, UV lights, fluorescent props and costumes are used to create a magical act of light and shadows on stage. It mainly uses two principles to create this effect — the first is that the human eye cannot distinguish a black object from a black background and the second is that UV lights behave differently when they fall on objects that are fluorescent in colour. The use of UV lights or ‘black lights’ on fluorescent objects on a black background creates an optical illusion that makes the objects seem to be floating on stage.

Although the basic concept of this theatrical style originated in Asia a long time ago, Prague has become a prominent centre now. Get your Black Light Theater Prague tickets and experience something unique and unforgettable!
